What is the TITAN Procedure?

The Titan Procedure™ is a safe, non-surgical process that uses an infrared light source to tighten skin and reverse the signs of aging. The Titan™ heats the dermis to cause collagen contraction while preserving the epidermis through continuous cooling. In addition, Titan can stimulate long-term collagen rebuilding that leaves patients with younger looking skin.

Titan uses a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources such as RF (radio frequency).

During the procedure, the skin's surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. This cooling effect allows the treatment to be performed virtually pain free, without the use of intravenous pain medication or even local or topical anesthetic. After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening over time and the development of a more youthful complexion with less lines, wrinkles, folds or looseness of the skin.

What to expect from a Titan procedure:

With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation, followed by soothing cooling. No anesthetics or topical creams are required. Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours. You may return to your normal activities immediately, as there is usually no"downtime." Minimal redness is seen in some patients but in most cases it disappears shortly after treatment. Heat-related complications may occur but are uncommon. There is no special care needed after treatment. As part of your skin care program, sunscreen is recommended.

Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients the results are gradual over a 3 to 6 month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
