In your younger years, an abundance of collagen and hyaluronic acid keep your skin looking smooth and supple. Collagen, a protein, provides your skin with structural support. Hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrates the skin and gives it volume. A variety of factors including time, sunlight and lifestyle cause these two elements in your skin diminish. This leads to visibly aging skin, where it begins to lose structure and volume, and the unwelcome lines and deep wrinkles begin to appear.
Dermal filler is more than just a “wrinkle filler” – it’s used to fill facial folds and enhance various parts of the face such as the lips, cheeks and jawline. It can also be used for depressed or sunken areas of the skin caused by scarring.
Delta Laser utilizes dermal fillers that consist of a crystal-clear gel composed of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid. Since this substance occurs naturally in the body, after being injected it will slowly break down and naturally be integrated into the body.
Unlike Botox® Cosmetic which is used to correct dynamic facial wrinkles, dermal fillers restore lost volume in static wrinkles and other areas of the face giving you a refreshed, more youthful ‘lifted’ look. However, Botox® Cosmetic and dermal fillers are increasingly being used at the same time (known as a SoftLift with Juvederm), amplifying the anti-aging results.
There are many different types and brands of filler available, but Delta Laser mainly utilizes Juvederm, Restylane, and Revanesse, all high-quality brands that produce impressive results. These dermal fillers have the ability to smooth deep wrinkles, fill lines and enhance lips or cheeks instantly. No pre-test is needed because unlike some dermal filler solutions, the occurrence of an adverse reaction to hyaluronic acid is rare.
Your safety and satisfaction with the results of your treatment are extremely important to us at Delta Laser Centre. Only highly experienced, trained and certified injectors such as Dr. Fleming, Dr. Amanda Maloney, and Dr. Sara Lacaria will perform your treatment.
We obtain our dermal fillers directly from the manufacturer in order to ensure their quality, to be able to participate in advanced training and to have access to clinical studies (which evaluate safety and effectiveness for different applications). Lastly, we ‘test’ all of the dermal fillers on ourselves before offering it as a treatment – it’s one of the best ways for us to determine if the results are just what our patients are looking for.
